Fotopub Festival

Fotopub is the space and time that means synergy of photographers, editors, theoretics, spectators and other fans of stories which a photography combines into an unique way. Education in forms of workshop, lectures, Tribuna (grandstand), multivision and exhibitions is upgraded with an intensive socialising of professional and amateur photographers, teachers, curators, mentors, designers, editors...and every year it is proven that this very sharing of passion for photography is the height of the workshop and festival of Fotopub.

You are absolutely obliged to come rested to the festival for sleeping is the only thing which we lack at Fotopub! The opening week of the festival will take place from July 23 – 28 and exhibitions will be open up until August 18 2012.

Fotopub festival 2012 will be entirely dedicated to Europe. We will invite the most talented photographers from all corners of the European Union to let them share there vision on the continent. Europe is experiencing huge changes. Both culturally and financially. The word of the day has become the “C” word. How are we photographers dealing with this? How does this reflect in our work? There are a lot of questions we ask ourselves these days. A new era. You can even call it redefining. Like Europe is redefining itself.

We are looking forward to an exciting and inspiring festival showing the diversity of the places we live. Finding answers to the questions we have in the workshops taking place where again also multimedia will play a big role. In year 2012 the city of Maribor is the European Cultural Capital. We are proud to tell you that Fotopub is taking part as a satellite program. Lets share our view on Europe and call it Eurovision!
