The workshop will rejoin the main theme of the festival, “Human Footprints”.

The students will be invited to pick up a subject that is linked to this theme and use the time and experience of the workshop to build a photographic work.
The workshop schedule will be treated in different parts, such as the choice of the subject, criticisms and discussions about their new photographs through personal or group interviews that I will conduct.

The students will also be invited to talk and debate about their photographic point of view, their past and present inspirations and influences.

We will try to find about the different ways of approaching a theme in photography.
General issues about the role of a photographic documentary will be discussed:
What is the place for a documentary work nowadays, in the press, magazines, gallery, and festivals?

Where is the border between Art and Photojournalism?
Does a documentary or a report have to bring answers or ask questions? Which distance the photographer has to keep facing the subject he’s treating?

The students will be expected to come with one or several portfolios of their previous works, books or catalogues of the photographers that have influenced or inspired them.
