ADVANCED WORKSHOP BIO Born In 1974 in Tubbergen in the Netherlands. Pieter Ten Hoopen left for Sweden in 1999 and studied photojournalism at the Nordens Fotoskola. Headquarters of the workshops is Cultural Centre Janez Trdina in the heart of Novo mesto. Most of the scheduled program is taking place there such as lectures, mentor hours (consulting), computer work. But attending our workshops is far from traditional schools, since our classrooms are often streets, local cafés, parks and countryside of Novo mesto. Students are asked to prepare a portfolio (10-20 photographs). This level is suited for experienced photographers working in documentary photography. At Fotopub students will work on their projects through individual evaluation and guidance by their mentor and prepare an individual screening for the final day of the workshops. This workshop is intended for absolute beginners, which have just entered the world of photography. Here you will get acquainted with your camera and the technical basics of photography (cover, shutter, objective, depth sharpness). There are no requirements of foreknowledge at this level but students must have SLR cameras, compact cameras are not suited for Fotopub.
Lectures are scheduled every day from 10 – 11am and will be held simultaneously at two different levels of difficulty. Students will choose which lecture they want to attend. Some of the lectures will be repeated so students will be able to attend most of all the lectures given throughout the week. In addition to theoretical lectures we will also offer practical application of the theory (ex. use of studio lights, flash, portrait...) and a chance to test professional equipment.
